Indiana Dick Lugar out after 35 Years – Episode #145

After 35 years in the U.S. Senate Dick Lugar has been defeated by the good freedom loving citizens of Indiana.  On May 8, 2012 the anti-gun movement in the Senate has been sent a major blow by having one of their long time RINO Republican senators losing his primary against an “A” rated and NRA backed candidate.

Indiana Senate Lugar Retire

Toppling over such a long time  politician doesn’t happen very often.  After working for the last 20 years to do what happened on May 8 I always wondered whether it would ever happen.  I’d always thought that he’d probably leave office either by choice or by death.  Never thought he’d stick around so long that he’d finally be defeated.

This means now we have a much better chance of passing good legislation and keeping out the unwanted compromise that a RINO  like Dick Lugar would always do.  I’d much rather see legislation not passed then have to compromise our freedoms and values.

Hope you enjoy this episode but please also take a look at all the links below you will find some very good articles and discussions about the loss of Dick Lugar in the United States Senate

Starbucks Buycott – Episode #143

Wow, it’s been since September 2011 since I released an episode of this podcast. Well I’ve been very busy with GRRN and normally talk about a lot of gun rights advocacy topics on the LIVE Bar Stool Discussion on a biweekly basis. So sometimes it gives me very little talk about here.

Not this week because the Valentine’s Day buycott of Starbucks has given me reason to do a new episode. So listen to the show and please send in your audio feedback. I’d like to use your feedback in the next episode so that we can have a debate.

Follow-Up to Evansville Indiana Lawsuit

There have been some developments after my interview with Guy Relford in the last episode of the podcast. It appears that some people that should know better have decided that it’s a good idea to attack Mr. Benjamin A. Magenheimer for exercising his rights under not only the Second Amendment of the United States but also under the Indiana Constitution and Indiana law.

Mr. Benjamin A. Magenheimer the plaintiff in the case against the city of Evansville was doing nothing more than exercising his right to carry a firearm. Indiana state law does not limit our right to carry only a concealed firearm. Far too often though individuals who are licensed to carry a firearm in our state are not familiar enough with the law to know that there is no reason why legally they cannot carry openly. So it causes confusion and when someone does at sometimes frightens individuals who are more ignorant of our laws.

Of course the media does not help and for some reason some of our citizens would much rather take the position that the media is pushing then using their own thought processes and thinking it out thoroughly before commenting in public. That is very unfortunate.

This past weekend I spent at the Gun Rights Policy Conference in Chicago in a room with nearly 800 Illinois residents who are working hard to have just the slimmest of rights that Indiana residents already take for granted. Let’s not go backwards with our freedoms and please think before you comment on something you have no direct knowledge of.

Here is a link to a letter from Guy Relford the attorney of Benjamin A. Magenheimer.
